Angus McNaughton – Head of Wholesale Property

Angus was appointed as the Head of Wholesale Property in July 2009. Angus has the overall responsibility to drive long-term strategy across the property business and performance of our wholesale property funds. Angus has been with the business for 14 years, and most recently worked in Singapore on establishing an Asian real estate fund management business for the group.

Prior to his secondment to Singapore, Angus was CEO of the New Zealand Stock Exchange Top 10 listed Kiwi Income Property Trust (KIPT). Under Angus’ guidance, KIPT became New Zealand’s most successful property vehicle, with a total gross return of 10.9% per annum since its inception in December 1993, total assets growing from NZ$100 million to NZ$2.1 billion, and the number of investors increasing from approximately 3,000 largely domestic investors to over 13,000 global investors.

Angus has more than 18 years’ experience within the property (asset and development management), capital markets and funds management industries. In 2007, Angus received the Property Institute of New Zealand’s Property Industry Award (sole recipient) and in 2006 he was voted one of the New Zealand Herald’s Top Business Leaders of the Year.

Michael Brown – Senior Fund Manager, Wholesale Property 
Michael has overall responsibility for the management and financial performance of the Direct Property Investment Fund which holds assets across the commercial, retail and industrial sectors throughout Australia. Michael also oversees the performance and strategic direction of the Commonwealth Property Hotel Fund (CPHF), CFS Property Opportunistic Partnership Fund No.1 (CPOP1) and the International Private Equity Real Estate Fund (IPERE).

Michael Brown has more than 25 years’ experience in the property and funds management industry, and has been with Colonial First State Global Asset Management for more than threee years. Michael has extensive funds and asset management experience in the Australian property industry. He has been responsible for numerous major acquisitions, leasing and development transactions across the commercial, retail, industrial and rural property sectors.

Jason Ferris – Senior Fund Manager, Wholesale Property
Jason has overall responsibility for the management and financial performance of the Private Property Syndicate (PPS), an unlisted closed term diversified property trust, domiciled in Australia. Jason also oversees the performance and strategic direction of the Diversified Property Pool (DPP), an open ended diversified fund, and Commonwealth Property Investment Trust (CPIT), an unlisted single asset trust for the Aurora Place holdings.

Jason has more than 18 years’ experience in the property and funds management industry, and has been with Colonial First State Global Asset Management for more than 10 years. Jason’s extensive experience in the property industry includes senior roles with Schroders and Colliers.
