Benchmarks revisited: Comparing the CFSGAM and IPD unlisted infrastructure indices
You may be aware that MSCI subsidiary Investment Property Databank (IPD) recently launched an Australian unlisted infrastructure performance index (“IPD Index”).
This is a welcome development for the industry, and one we called for in our November 2010 paper ‘Setting the goalposts: A review of infrastructure fund benchmarks.’
This note provides an overview of the new index, which Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM) is a sponsor of. We hope it proves useful in understanding the similarities and differences between the IPD Index and our existing internal index used for research and analytical purposes (“CFSGAM Index”)
