First State's Global Equity team believe that companies with strong competitive dynamics will create long-term value for shareholders. These are the very best companies that have a winning business model, are gaining market share, enjoy abundant growth opportunities and have a strong management team. They refer to these key attributes as ‘Competitive Dynamics’.

The team’s focus is on identifying and valuing such companies, which is why they are all specialists in particular industries. Team members have on average 15 years of investment experience. They are bottom-up investors and put fundamental analysis of the company at the centre of their investment approach. The team believe that their deep industry knowledge enables them to capture the greatest insight, and identify the companies with strong Competitive Dynamics from around the world that should deliver the best returns.
