Joanne Warner - Head of Global Resources
Dr Joanne Warner joined Colonial First State Global Asset Management in August 1997 as the back-up Portfolio Manager for the flagship Wholesale Global Resources Fund. She became the prime Portfolio Manager for the internal Statutory Funds in July 2003 and then for a Global Resources mandate in January 2006. Between 2006 and mid-2010 she was the prime Portfolio Manager for all the publicly offered Global Resources long funds in Australia, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan, before becoming the Head of Global Resources in June 2010.
Joanne has more than 13 years experience as a specialist Global Resources portfolio manager and analyst. She moved into the financial sector with the London based global mining specialist broker, T Hoare & Co, where she spent two years as an analyst before moving to Equitilink as a Fund Manager in the resources sector.
Joanne holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Applied Chemistry) from the University of Technology, Sydney, where she won the University Medal. She was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to study at the University of Oxford where she was awarded a PhD in Solid State Chemistry. In November 2007, she won the Outstanding Achievement Award for Mining Funds Management at the annual Mines and Money Conference, sponsored by the Mining Journal in London.

Renzo Casarotto - Senior Portfolio Manager
Renzo Casarotto is the joint portfolio manager for the Wholesale Global Resources Fund and lead portfolio manager for the Wholesale Global Soft Commodity Share Fund. Renzo joined Colonial First State Global Asset Management’s Global Resources team as a Senior Portfolio Manager in February 2006. He has more than 25 years experience as a specialist Global Resources portfolio manager and analyst.
Prior to joining CFSGAM, Renzo worked at Prudential as a Senior Resource Analyst. After six years in Resources, he became Prudential’s Asian Equities Portfolio Manager, managing the Asian equities component of Prudential’s offshore investments.
Previously, Renzo worked at Nomura Asset Management as a Senior Portfolio Manager, managing the Australian Equities portion of Pacific Basin mandates as well as contributing to asset allocation within the Pacific Basin portfolios. Renzo holds a Bachelor of Business and has a post graduate diploma in Applied Finance and Investments from the Securities Institute of Australia.

Todd Warren - Portfolio Manager
Todd Warren joined Colonial First State Global Asset Management in January 1999 as a member of the Research and Information team, moving into his current position in the Global Resources team in March 2003. In October 2004, Todd was seconded to the London office where he was responsible for marketing the Global Resources funds in the UK and Europe, as well as being the resources specialist in the Global Equities team. Todd took on a portfolio management role in July 2006, with a prime responsibility for the energy investments within the Global Resources portfolios.
Prior to joining the Global Resources team, Todd was responsible for relationships with the major independent research houses. Todd also worked closely with the Australian Equities (GDP Plus) team, providing macro and micro level portfolio and process information to both internal and external clients. Previously, Todd also spent three years with the State Bank of New South Wales in a strategy role, focusing particularly on corporate business strategy.

Tal Lomnitzer - Portfolio Manager
Tal Lomnitzer joined Colonial First State Global Asset Management in 2011 with 13 years’ experience in buy-side global resources, energy research and investment. He brings significant experience in both long and short investing strategies within global resources equities. Tal joins the team from Merchant Global Resources Fund, which he founded and managed. Previously he was a partner and fund manager at NewSmith Capital and ORN Capital, where he managed the Global Long/Short Resources and Energy funds. Prior to this, he was a fund manager and buy-side equity analyst at Deutsche Asset Management, where he worked within the Global Energy team. Tal is a CFA Charter holder and holds a First Class honours BA and an MA in Economics from Cambridge University.

Skye Macpherson - Portfolio Manager
Skye Macpherson joined Colonial First State Global Asset Management in January 2000, and was appointed to role of Analyst in the Global Resources team in November 2005. In her role, Skye is actively involved in the management of the soft commodities fund and has been researching forestry, pulp and fertiliser companies within the global resources universe over the past four years.
Skye originally worked in the finance department as a fund accountant while completing her final year of university. She then moved into an analyst role in the Investment Markets Research team, gaining experience in economic analysis and across the broader investment categories of the business. She then relocated to the London office to join the Information and Research team, where she managed the team responsible for all investment communications. Skye has been a strong contributor to the Global Resources team as a mining analyst, before becoming a portfolio manager for the agribusiness funds in 2010.
Skye holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from the University of New England, Armidale where she won the University Medal. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments specialising in Investment Analysis from the Securities Institute of Australia. Skye is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst charterholder.
Skye is the Global Resources team’s representative on the Colonial First State Global Asset Management United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment committee and leads the team’s approach to environmental, social and governance investment considerations.

Rebecca O’Dwyer - Senior Analyst, Global Resources
Rebecca joined Colonial First State Global Asset Management in 2010 with seven years previous experience in the investment industry and three years in the mining industry.
Rebecca was previously a member of Investec’s top rated mining research team based in London where she became the top ranked UK small caps mining analyst in Extel’s 2010 survey and ranked number two UK analyst in both 2008 and 2009. At Investec, Rebecca’s research coverage was focused on the precious metals and the diversified miners. Prior to joining Investec, Rebecca covered FTSE100 mining stocks in London as Vice President – Metals and Mining with Morgan Stanley. She also has three years experience as a mining engineer with Anglo Coal.
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Queensland, an MBA from the Said Business School at the University of Oxford and is a CFA Charter holder.

Mark Hume - Senior Analyst, Global Resources
Mark joined Colonial First State Global Asset Management in 2010 having spent 4 years with energy consultant Wood Mackenzie, and 6 years in sell-side research.
Mark was previously a member of Credit Suisse’s top rated European oil and gas team and most recently head of the Oil & Gas team at BofA Merrill Lynch Australia, both roles giving Mark significant depth and firsthand experience of the energy sector.
Mark holds a Masters of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Heriot Watt and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh.

Peter Campbell - Analyst
Peter Campbell joined Colonial’s graduate programme in June 2008. From December 2009, Peter has worked with the Global Resources team, first in Sydney and more recently from the London office. In this role, Peter has been responsible for the steel sector and has also been involved in numerous company reviews and site visits. Peter’s previous roles with Colonial include positions with the Unlisted Infrastructure team in Sydney and the Global Equities team in London.
Peter has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales. He has also completed Level 1 of the CFA accreditation.”

Rupert Cole - Investment Manager, Global Resources
Rupert joins Colonial First State Global Asset Management with five years of finance, investment and management experience.
Rupert joins us from the Institutional and Business Banking team of the CBA where he worked as the Project and Analytics Manager. In this role, Rupert led several strategic business reviews to enhance the productivity, efficiency and performance of the Institutional and Business Banking team. Rupert also has two years of experience in investment research and analysis with Australian Wealth Management Ltd. Since 2000, he has served as an Officer in the Australian Army Reserve.
Rupert holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Macquarie University, a Masters of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment.
