Recruitment philosophies

Our recruitment vision

Colonial First State Global Asset Management aims to attract and develop the highest calibre of people with the behavioural and technical talent to grow themselves and the business to achieve our vision.

Our recruitment policy

We aim to attract the highest calibre people to our team - individuals who have the ability to change and grow with the organisation to achieve Colonial First State Global Asset Management's business goals and objectives. Our people are recruited based on their ability, behaviours, attitude and development needs, taking into consideration all aspects of the technical and behavioural competencies of the role.

All decisions to recruit, promote and transfer people within the company are based on the principle of merit and the real needs of the role.  This means that only the person whose skills, qualifications, experience and values match the selection criteria for the role will be appointed.

Colonial First State Global Asset Management is committed to ensuring there is no discriminatory behaviour within the workplace, and that all current and potential employees have equitable access to promotion and transfer opportunities. Recruitment decisions which are based on irrelevant factors such as a person's gender, race, disability, age or personal biases or favouritism are discriminatory and may not result in the best person for the job being selected, and are therefore inappropriate.

To assist with this, our managers are trained in and adhere to established company recruitment and selection guidelines. This ensures a consistent recruitment and selection process across our business, and aims to clearly outline the various responsibilities involved in the process.
