10 December 2008	Colonial First State Property Management recognised for excellence in shopping centre development	Colonial First State Property Management (CFSPM) was recognised with an award last week at the ICSC International Design and Development Awards for global excellence in the design and development of retail properties.
9 December 2008	Brisbane Airport named Capital City Airport of the Year and world’s best water saver	Brisbane Airport has been named Capital City Airport of the Year by the Australian Airports Association. The awards are voted by more than 8 million passengers at more than 190 airports worldwide. Brisbane Airport was also named world’s best water saver in the 2008 International Water Association awards in Europe and Best Airport Asia-Pacific in the prestigious Syktrax Awards. Brisbane Airport is a cornerstone investment in two Colonial First State Global Asset Management infrastructure funds. The CFS Global Diversified Infrastructure Fund is currently accepting new commitments from institutional investors. Colonial First State Global Asset Management is committed to achieving Responsible Investment improvements across its suite of investment funds.
8 December 2008	Two international awards for Sylvia Park shopping centre, Kiwi Income Property Trust's flagship retail asset	The innovative design and development of Sylvia Park shopping centre has been recognised for the second time this year with a Merit Award at the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) Design and International Development Awards presented in Phoenix, Arizona last week. ‘It is a huge honour to be recognised amongst the best shopping centres in the world,’ says Chris Gudgeon, Chief Executive, Kiwi Income Property Trust. Sylvia Park is the largest shopping centre in New Zealand and Kiwi Income Property Trust’s flagship retail asset.
5 December 2008	Key industry appointments for sustainability team to the Investor Group on Climate Change and Green Building Council of Australia	Amanda McCluskey, Head of Responsible Investment and Sustainability has been appointed Deputy Chair of the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) and Rowan Griffin, Head of Sustainability for Property and Alternative Investments, has been appointed as a Director of the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). Amanda and Rowan's appointments demonstrate the high regard with which they are held in the investment community in relation to environmental, social and government issues and the excellent work the broader business has done implementing the Principles for Responsible Investment.
18 November 2008	Colonial First State Global Asset Management lands over US$130 million in new investments to its media fund	Colonial First State Global Asset Management has announced over US$130 million of new investments into its FS Media Works Fund I, L.P. – bringing the fund to an initial close. The First State Media Works Fund I, L.P, launched earlier this year, has attracted high profile international end investors including a leading Australian based investment manager and a number of major North American institutional investors and private wealth managers, in addition to the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

9 September 2008	DPIF signs lease at Rydalmere	Colonial First State Global Asset Management’s Direct Property Investment Fund (DPIF) has announced it has signed a new 11-year lease with Trivett commencing 1 September 2008, for a 6,000sqm distribution facility at its Cumberland Green Industrial Estate, Rydalmere, NSW.
3 September 2008	Jimmy Choo to open in Melbourne's iconic Chadstone Shopping Centre	Glamorous accessories maker Jimmy Choo has announced plans to open a store at Chadstone Shopping Centre. This will be the first time that the luxury brand, which is favoured by celebrities across the globe, will open its doors in Melbourne.
2 September 2008	DPIF sells Richlands property	Colonial First State Global Asset Management’s Direct Property Investment Fund (DPIF or the ‘Fund’) has sold an industrial property at 616 Boundary Road, Richlands, Queensland, for a price of $15 million to Border Express Pty Ltd.
27 August 2008	Sustainability team bolstered	As part of its ongoing commitment to integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues into its investment processes, Colonial First State Global Asset Management has bolstered its sustainability team with the appointment of two new senior industry hires. Rowan Griffin has been appointed to the role of Head of Sustainability for Property and Alternative Investments and Amy Hogan to the role of Sustainability Manager – Property.
26 June 2008	Mark Lazberger appointed CEO of Colonial First State Global Asset Management	The Commonwealth Bank announced today that Mark Lazberger has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Colonial First State Global Asset Management with effect from 1 September 2008. He has a broad background in global funds management and distribution, with excellent experience in Europe, Asia and Australia. Mr Lazberger is currently based in London as President, International and Executive Vice President of State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the world’s largest institutional asset manager.

21 May 2008	Investors support three-year extension to Commonwealth Property Hotel Fund	Unitholders today elected to extend the term of Colonial First State Global Asset Management’s flagship direct hotel property fund, Commonwealth Property Hotel Fund (CPHF), by three years to May 2011. The new agreement also enhances CPHF’s alignment and operating agreement with Marriott.
8 April 2008	Jones Lang LaSalle and Colonial First State Property Management enter into a Joint Venture to form Sandalwood Pte Limited	Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (NYSE: JLL), and Colonial First State Property Management have entered into a joint venture partnership to capitalise on the premium retail property opportunities in Asia. The 50:50 joint venture company, named Sandalwood Pte Limited (‘Sandalwood’) will be the first integrated retail development and management service provider to operate across Asia.

26 November 2007	Colonial First State Global Asset Management acquires United Utilities Electricity	Colonial First State Global Asset Management has led a consortium in the successful acquisition of United Utilities Electricity Limited (UUE), one of only 14 regulated electricity distribution networks in England, Wales and Scotland, and will be the only such asset directly owned by infrastructure investors.
1 November 2007	Launch of Australian Share Alpha Plus Fund - Core	Colonial First State Global Asset Management has launched the Colonial First State Wholesale Australian Alpha Plus Fund - Core. This fund aims to provide long-term capital growth with some income by investing predominantly in a broad selection of Australian companies, as well as taking short positions in order to invest more and expand investment returns. The Fund will invest long and short in Australian equities, primarily within the S&P/ASX 100 Accumulation Index, and may also use derivatives to obtain market exposure.
24 October 2007	First State Media Group set to launch media fund	First State Media Group announced today that it will launch its first media fund, FS Media Works, to Australian and international institutional investors by the end of 2007. First State Media Group is Colonial First State Global Asset Management’s media funds management joint venture.
16 October 2007	Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa wins sustainability award	The Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa, which is owned by the Commonwealth Property Hotel Fund, has been awarded a prestigious sustainability award announced at the Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP) in Hong Kong on Friday 12th October.

26 May 2005	Commonwealth Bank announces Warwick Negus as CEO of Colonial First State Global Asset Management and the acquisition of minority stake in 452 Capital	The Commonwealth Bank today announced that Warwick Negus has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFS GAM) and will formally take up this role on 1 June 2005. The formation of CFS GAM was announced in February 2005 and consists of the funds management teams from Colonial First State and First State International, with a sole focus on investment management.
